A female yellow-headed blackbird showed up at Karen Osler’s feeder on the morning of June 22 and was not seen after that morning.
Migration in the spring is a race northward to their breeding grounds.

Great egrets seem to be spread across the Vineyard, as they can regularly be found feeding in shallow water and salt marshes across the Island.
At least one brown pelican was spotted on May 28. Maybe more than one is present.
On May 20, I visited the Pumping Station and migratory birds were plentiful.
