Our pet of the week is Pepper, is a nine-month-old, female Plott hound.

Plotts are an athletic breed of dog so we’re looking for an active family for this puppy. This girl is very sweet, affectionate, and very smart so training her should be a breeze. Plotts also get along well with other dogs. Pepper is currently in a foster home so please contact the shelter if you would like to set up and appointment to meet her.

If you’d prefer a cat, Benny is an eight-year-old, rag doll mix who inherited those beautiful blue eyes. We’re looking for a special angel for Benny as he suffers from diabetes and needs daily insulin injections. However, he is a charming, personable fellow who enjoys playing, is affectionate, and quite the purrer.

Thank you to the Island’s animal control officers, Dr. Connie Breeze, Dr. Michelle Jasney and Dr. Steve Atwood, for another successful rabies clinic this past Saturday.

Save the date for the next nail clinic that will take place on Saturday, April 6 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. — walks ins

only, $20 cash or check. March 23 is the date of the next visit by All Pet’s Medical Center. If you would like to schedule an appointment for your pet please contact them at 508-743-8338.

We are also looking for jewelry donations for our annual Garden Party. We will accept any type of jewelry in any condition. Donations should be dropped off at the shelter during business hours.
