The Vineyarders fought blow-for-blow with the Seekonk Warriors Saturday night to open their season, but fell 40-6.

The Keene Swamp Bats came, saw, conquered and left victorious with a 14-10 win over the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks in game one of the NECBL championship Wednesday night.

Riding a wave of dominant starting pitching, heroic plays in the field and clutch hitting, the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks are two wins away from being crowned champions of the NECBL.

The Martha’s Vineyard Sharks celebrated a 15-13 victory Thursday, finishing off their inaugural regular season in the New England Collegiate Baseball League with the most wins in the league.

The Sharks were victorious for the third straight game behind the arm of emerging hurler Will Warren as he struck out seven in a 7-3 triumph over the North Adams SteepleCats Sunday night.

Baseballs took a beating, tempers flared, and there were enough stolen base attempts to alert the authorities as the Sharks fell 8-7 to division foe Danbury Wednesday night.
