The Martha’s Vineyard Museum’s Evening of Discovery was held Saturday at the future museum location at the former marine hospital overlooking the Lagoon in Vineyard Haven.

It was an evening of firsts for Adult Community Education of Martha’s Vineyard (ACE MV) as the organization hosted its first annual fundraiser, Charting Courses, at the West Chop Club on Saturday.

On Friday night the Portuguese American club was packed as Vineyarders turned out for a fundraiser for Jakob Burton-Sundman, who became partially paralyzed last December.

More than 100 people gathered at The Seafood Shanty Saturday night to support Olivia Hart, a 22-year-old Islander who needs a heart transplant. The event raised more than $38,000.

On Sunday, March 15, the Offshore Ale Co. in Oak Bluffs will hold an all day fundraiser for Samantha Caldwell, a third grader at the Tisbury School fighting brain cancer. Throughout the day, 100 per cent of food profits will be donated to the Caldwell family.

A pop-up party held at Herring Creek Farm for 300 diners dressed all in white raised $4,000 for the Martha's Vineyard Museum on Wednesday evening. Even the clouds were white as nature loves a good theme-party, too.
