With just seconds left in the game, Martha's Vineyard defeated the Nantucket Whalers Saturday to retain the Island Cup. Nantucket dominated play for the much of the game, leading the home team 26-14 in the third quarter. But the Vineyard surged in the fourth, capturing two touchdowns and field kicks. The final touchdown, bringing the score to a final 27-26, was scored with 20 seconds left on the clock. The Vineyard has won every Island Cup match played since 2002.
