Robert (Bob) Joseph Francis Jr. died peacefully at his home in West Tisbury on Friday morning, Nov. 24. He was 65.

He was born on August 20, 1958 in Oak Bluffs, the son of Patricia Mahoney and Robert Francis Sr. He was the oldest of five siblings.

His heart was bigger than most people’s and he was loved by many. He loved being outside and walking everywhere, everyday, talking sports and being the jokester amongst the crowd. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Karen Lyn Ward and his daughters Jessica Francis, Jennifer Carroll and Jade Mazza.

A celebration of life and potluck will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 11 a.m. at the Portuguese American Club in Oak Bluffs. Please bring a dish to share.

I saw Bobby last week. As usual he was wearing a smile. Even when life dealt him a bad hand he still had a smile. Hard not to like him
