Jane D. Farland of East Falmouth, formerly of Edgartown, died peacefully on March 4 at Bridges by Epoch in Mashpee. She was 88.

Jane graduated from Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School, worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Rioux in Falmouth and ultimately retired with Dr. Wall in Falmouth. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club and Couples Club at St. Anthony’s Church in East Falmouth. She also volunteered at Falmouth Hospital. She used to sew the cough pillows for Falmouth Hospital. Her greatest accomplishment was raising her five children. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.

She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Farland Jr. and daughter of the late Frank and Charlotte Duarte. She was also predeceased by her oldest son Bruce A. Farland.

She is survived by her four children, Charlene Antrim and her husband Jack of Centerville, Elizabeth Farland and her husband John Hamrin of Falmouth, Timothy Farland and his wife Vickie Klein of Falmouth, Joseph Anthony Farland 3rd and his wife Connie of Jacksonville, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Katie, Jonathan, John Paul, Matthew, Heather, Ashley, Kaycee, Nicole, Michelle; 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Jane shared a wonderful life with her husband Joe, through 65 years of marriage and now they rest eternally together.

A committal service will take place for Jane and her husband at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Monday, April 19 at 10:30 a.m.
