So sad. Nancy was a beautiful and talented woman. She was one of my first Island photography heroes, with “Time’s Island.”

Early on when I came to the Vineyard, I was lucky to have met Nancy. We spent hours talking about photography and our dreams about making our mark photographically in the future. By then she had already come out with two books about the Island so she was far ahead of me. In time we were to share the "spotlight" together in a gallery show.. So glad we had a chance to do that. She was dear woman and dear friend.

A lovely and warm-hearted woman, with a genuine vision. There was a sparkling innocence about her, but she knew where she was going, and was sure to get there. As a seer she saw beneath and beyond the superficial present, into the enduring spirit of things--which is not easy to do, in the rigid flat renderings of photography.

Before Nancy became a Magdelene priestess, and Sedona regular, I remember Nancy traipsing the VIneyard in the 70's, chronicling with her camera an era of Vineyard fast going by...capturing the island people that grew from farm, field and sea..well before this era of the vacation disposable dollar. Now for me, Nancy takes her place among her Time's Island photographs. While she guided others spiritual in latter years, she left something of the Vineyard behind for us all.

I met Nancy in Sedona in the mid 1990's at a spiritual conference. We became friends and she visited me in London. I always meant to go on one of her sacred site journeys in France but never quite made it. I was thinking about Nancy the week of the 6th July and was going to e-mail her. It was with great sadness that I saw this posting about her passing. Nancy was a special spiritual friend. May her spirit be free and be bathed in Gods loving healing Light.
