Robin Ann (Gomes) Voisine died May 5. She was 59.

Robin was born on June 28, 1959 in Oak Bluffs. She was the daughter of Jean Elizabeth (Costa) Gomes and John P. Gomes, both of New Bedford.

She spent many years on the Island with her late grandmother Alberta (Allard) Costa. She worked at the A&P in Edgartown for several years and made many friends while here.

She returned to New Bedford and married Robert Voisine. She worked as a bookkeeper and payroll clerk for Olin Ages in New Bedford for 15 years. She then went to nursing school and worked at Sacred Heart nursing home.

She will be remembered by her family and friends both on and off the Island as a hard worker and an easygoing and friendly person.

Robin suffered a bad fall two years ago and has had continual problems because of that fall.

On Island, Robin is survived by her aunt Elaine C. Carroll, cousins Michael Thomas Carroll, Carol H. Carroll and family and Elizabeth Jean Carroll and Mary Beth (Lopes) Baptiste, all of Vineyard Haven; cousins Lillian Anderson and Dee Dee Borza of Oak Bluffs; and the families of the late Patricia A. Costa and Virginia A. Hall.

In New Bedford she is survived by her husband, Robert Voisine, and her beloved dog Kiki; her brother Timothy Gomes; her sisters Pamela Martin, Tammy Gomes and Becky Gomes. Her brother Shawn Gomes predeceased her several years ago.

Contributions may be made in Robin’s memory to the Animal Shelter or a charity of one’s choice.

Her family will think of Robin every time they see a robin on a perch or in flight.
