Ruth Mary Rocha died on Saturday, Dec. 9 at her home in Vineyard Haven. She was 94.

Visiting hours will take place Tuesday, Dec. 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home in Oak Bluffs.

Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church, Franklin street, Vineyard Haven. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, State Road, Vineyard Haven.

A complete obituary will appear in a future edition of the Gazette. Donations may be made in her memory to the Good Shepherd Parish, P.O. Box 1058, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568.

I always remember Ruthie Roche at the A&P working a massive cash register when I was a boy. She always had a smile and was so very pleasant whenever she waited on any of our purchases when I was young till I grew older. She will be missed.
