Funeral Mass Monday for Judy Oliver

Eileen Judith (Judy) Oliver died at her Vineyard Haven home on Thursday, Nov. 5. She was 74.

Judy was the beloved wife of Vernon (Buddy) Oliver.

Visiting hours will held on Sunday, Nov. 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home in Oak Bluffs.

Judy’s funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, Nov. 9 at noon at St. Augustine’s Church in Vineyard Haven. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Vineyard Haven.

Donations in Judy’s memory may be made to the MV Cancer Support Group, PO Box 2214, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568. A complete obituary will appear in a future edition of the Gazette.

Judy, always welcomed us to the Vineyard with open arms. She always had a smile on her face and she raised an amazing daughter who my heart aches for in this very sad time. Sincere condolences.

I was a boyfriend of Judy from 1964 to 1966 when she met her husband on the Vineyard and dumped me. She was an amazing person and after losing her I was devastated. I'm sure she was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. Over the years I have remembered the times we had together. I wish I could have convinced her to be my wife.
