Pamela E. Bounds Peia, born in Sittingbourne, UK, died in Washington, D.C., on April 29, 2014. She was 81.

Pamela will be remembered as an artist with a special talent for creating something out of the simplest finds. She was an award-winning artist on the Vineyard, taking prizes for her beach glass jewelry, her felted bird and her painting. She could figure out most any problem you had with knitting. She and her husband Rich were avid bridge players. She was a kind, caring and longtime active community member in Washington, D.C., and Martha’s Vineyard.

A celebration of her life was held at Davies Memorial Unitarian Universalist Church on May 31. Memories of her life were shared by her husband, Richard H. Peia; her brother, Peter Lindridge; children Linda Conte and her husband Tony; Tim Nettleton and his wife Greta, and Anthony Bounds and his wife Dee; stepchildren Shannon Hays and her husband Steve, and Wendy Oakes and her husband Dan; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many dear friends and family members.

There will be a memorial for Pam at the Martha’s Vineyard Unitarian Universalist Church in Vineyard Haven at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Star Island Family Retreat and Conference Center at starisland.org/donating, or to the Unitarian Universalist Society of Martha’s Vineyard, 238 North Main street, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568.
