Joyce P. L’Heureux of Oak Bluffs, died on May 11 at Windemere Nursing Home surrounded by her family. She was 93.

She was born in Perth, Western Australia, to Constance and Charles Horrocks. Joyce was the wife of the late Henry B. L’Heureux of Bristol, Conn.

She was a registered nurse and trained at the Royal Perth Hospital. Joyce married and moved to Bristol, Conn. She was active as a volunteer for the Red Cross and St. Gregory’s Parish adult day care.

Joyce was the mother of Charles L’Heureux of Hawaii, Michele Leonardi of Chilmark, Paul L’Heureux of Los Angeles, Jacqueline (Jon) Wilson of New Haven, Conn., Neil L’Heureux of Bellingham, and Diane (Eric) Hvalso of Seattle, Wash. She is also survived by grandchildren Joshua (Heather) Kochin, Gina (Davis) Solon, Alex (Amelia) Leonardi, Alexander Wilson, Eva Wilson, Amrit L’Heureux and Dharma L’Heureux, and five great-grandchildren.

Joyce’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the loving care provided by the staff of Windemere Nursing Home for many years.
