Carol Combra Clark died peacefully at her home in Vineyard Haven surrounded by her family on Saturday, Nov. 20, after a lengthy illness. She was born Carol Ann Combra on Jan. 3, 1944, in Oak Bluffs to Herbert Combra Sr. and Martha Lovell Combra.

Carol’s greatest joys in life came while surrounded by her family. She was an avid baker, knitter and crafter. She had once owned and operated both a cake decorating store and craft store. She created countless wedding and birthday cakes for family and friends. She loved spending time with her many grandchildren. Carol and her husband Bob enjoyed many vacations with her brother in law Richard Clark and his wife Lorraine. Carol divided her time between her home on the Vineyard and her home in Lauderdale by the Sea, Fla., where she also had many close friends.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Robert H. Clark; her three children Lisa Packish Merritt of Oak Bluffs, Lynn Packish Dwane of West Tisbury and Brian Clement Packish of Oak Bluffs and her stepdaughter Robin Sylvia of Vineyard Haven. She will be deeply missed by her 11 grandchildren. She also leaves her brother, Herbert Combra and his wife Hilde, her brother, Richard Combra and his wife Dawn; and aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Marilyn Combra Rebello, her brother, Russell Combra, and her stepson Robert Clark Jr.

A funeral service was held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish on Tuesday, Nov. 23.

Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Vineyard Haven.

For their wonderful assistance and gentle care, donations may be made in her honor to the Vineyard Nursing Association, P.O. Box 399, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568.
