Dorothy Lair Willoughby

Dorothy Lair Willoughby, 98, of Orange, Conn. died peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 23. She was the beloved wife of the late Irving Willoughby.

A daughter of the late Carleton and Mary Alice Beatty Lair she was born on May 2, 1907 in New Bedford and was a lifelong resident of Martha's Vineyard before moving to Orange 10 years ago.

Mrs. Willoughby leaves a son Graham L. Willoughby and his wife Maureen of Orange; three grandchildren, Rachel (Steven) Hackett of Shelton, Conn., Graham (Jolyn) Willoughby of Oakville, Conn., and Rebecca Willoughby of California; three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Kyla and Carter and a niece Reberta Mendlovitz. She was predeceased by two sisters, Theola Hammett and Winifred Hoppkins.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 27 in the new Westside Cemetery in Edgartown. Arrangements are in care of the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad street, Milford, Conn.
