Earle N. Cutler 3rd Was Longtime Summer Visitor

Earle Newton Cutler 3rd of Vero Beach, Fla., died on March 30 following a brave struggle with cancer. A 1958 graduate of St. Paul's School and 1962 graduate of Trinity College, he worked for 32 years at J.P. Morgan, rising to the head of domestic private banking. He enjoyed a lifetime of summers on the Island where he was an active member of the Edgartown Yacht Club, the Edgartown Golf Club and the Edgartown Reading Room. His generosity, humor and wisdom will be deeply missed by his family.

He is survived by his wife, Alexandra M. Cutler; two sons, Earle N. Cutler 4th of Darien, Conn., and Peter K. Cutler of Ardmore, Pa.; one daughter, Katharine C. Coughlin of Dedham; two sisters, Carolyn C. Goodman of Villanova, Pa. and Edgartown, and Allison Cutler of Devon, Pa.; one brother, Michael W. Cutler of West Tisbury; an aunt, Carolyn C. Verbeck of Vineyard Haven; two stepchildren, Allison P. Smith and Peter J. Pell Jr. of New York city; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on April 4 at the Community Church in Vero Beach. There are plans for a service this July in Edgartown.
