Lynn Marie Jardin, 48, Was Kind and Generous

Lynn Marie Jardin of Edgartown died Nov. 27 at the Martha's Vineyard Hospital. She was 48.

Lynn was born Nov. 7, 1956 on the Vineyard, the daughter of Frank and Phyllis Jardin of Edgartown. She was the loving mother of a daughter Heather Jardin of Tisbury and a son Brandon Jardin of Edgartown.

Her daughter Heather offered some words on Lynn:

"My mother was a pillar of strength throughout my life. With every hardship she came back with the strength of 10 giants. I have never met another with a heart so full of love, a heart so big. She could make you laugh even on the worst of days, with a joke, a story or just her smile. To my mother everyone was a friend, she had no foes. All she wanted in life was to be a mother of one daughter and one son. On Nov. 22, 1991 that was accomplished. It was one of the happiest days of her life the day her Brandon was born, her little B. To my brother Brandon I want you to know your mother loved you with every ounce of her being, with every piece of her heart and soul. You are the embodiment of our mother, so much of her is coursing through your veins. You have her smile and her laugh I see the same sparkle of mischief in your eyes. Our mom is still with us and she will surround us with her love for the rest of our lives. When you feel sad go to the beach or the woods and she will be there. Talk to her and she will listen and guide you through your long life. Brandon I ask that you smile lots for our mother. To all our family and friends thank you. My mother touched so many on this tiny Island with a huge heart. It is so much like my mother - she was small and gentle like a breeze but had the same impact as a strong wind. All I ask is for all of you not to forget her. She was a hard worker and loved even harder. My mother is and will always be an amazing woman, daughter, sister and mother. To my mumma I will miss you everyday and love you even longer. Love your daughter, Heather.

She is survived by her brothers, Gary Jardin of Oak Bluffs and Wayne Jardin of Naples Fla.; her sisters, Karen Jardin of Edgartown, Diana Jardin of Port Orange Fla., Debbie Regan of Oak Bluffs and Sian Skatoff of Marietta Ga. She was predeceased by her sister Irene Brennen of Pasadena Md. Lynn is survived by fifteen nieces and nephews each with a special place in her heart.

Her funeral service was held in Chapman, Cole and Gleason in Oak Bluffs, officiated by Rev. Kenneth Campbell on Nov. 30 and interment was in the New Westside Cemetery, Edgartown.
