Judith A. Hofferberth, 61, Summered on the Island

Judith A. (Kiraly) Hofferberth, 61, of Bernardston died August 29 at the Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Warren, Ohio on Dec. 18, 1942, Judi was the daughter of Hungarian descendants, Nicholas and Mary Gernik Kiraly. She was graduated from McKinley High School in Niles, Ohio, in 1960. Before making her home in Bernardston, she resided in Deerfield Beach, Fla., and spent many summers on Martha's Vineyard. A real estate agent, a chamber of commerce membership director and a flight attendant, Judi loved working with the public. A devoted mother of two daughters and grandmother of three, she was beloved by many. While she had many hobbies, including golf and travel, she is most remembered for her kindness, sincerity and her ability to develop lifelong relationships wherever she traveled.

Survivors include her husband, Carl F. Hofferberth; her two daughters, Erika and her husband, Paul Olson, of Gill, and Nicole and her husband, Kenneth Bilzerian, of Tisbury; two brothers, Robert and his wife, Rose Kiraly, of Youngston, Ohio, and Nicholas and his wife, Charlene Kiraly, of Aiken, S.C.; three grandchildren, Dillon and Alexander Bilzerian and Karissa olson, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Lou Maxwell, and a brother, Thomas Kiraly.

Memorial services will be held on the Vineyard at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be directed to the Cam Neeley Foundation for Cancer Care, 30 Winter street, Boston, MA 02108.
