Stanley D. Williams, 81, Was U.S. Army Veteran

Stanley D. Williams, 81, of Red Gate Road in Jaffrey, N.H., died Sunday, May 2, after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Williams was born in Bridgeport, R.I., on August 9, 1922, son of the late Jay and Elona (Stanley) Williams. He was a 1934 graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y.

He had served with the U.S. Army in the European Theatre during World War II.

Mr. Williams had worked as an engineer for National Lead Industries until he retired in 1976. He had enjoyed spending his summers in Martha's Vineyard.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary (Torrey) Williams of Jaffrey; his daughter, Sandra Ruskey of Leipsic, Ohio, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Jaffrey, N.H., is assisting with arrangements.
