Celeste Caramanica, 57, Was Born in Oak Bluffs

Celeste (Duarte) Caramanica, 57, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, N.H., on Sunday, July 6.

Celeste was born Nov. 17, 1945 in Oak Bluffs, the daughter of Victor and Gertrude Duarte. She moved to to Belmont, N.H., five years ago.

Survivors include a son, Roger Caramanica of Belmont, N.H.; two daughters, Barbra Smith of Vineyard Haven, and Susan Amaral of Belmont, N.H.; six grandchildren, Katrina Smith of Rhode Island, Justin Smith and Stacey Smith, both of Vineyard Haven and Jedadiah Amaral, Jamie Amaral and Shawna Amaral, all of Belmont, N.H.; one great grandchild, Sayde Clidence of Rhode Island; five brothers, Douglas Duarte of New Mexico, Lawrence Duarte of Maine, Brian Duarte and Keith Duarte, both of Florida, and Gerald Duarte of Virginia; four sisters, Joyce Maciel of Gilmanton, N.H., Sandra McMullen of New Bedford, Sharon Reynolds of Belmont, N.H., and Trudi Varrieur of Litchfield, N.H.; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a sister, Vivian Allen.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 9, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H. A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 5 p.m., also at the funeral home.
