The Oak Bluffs select board Tuesday voted to set a two-article warrant for a special town meeting next month.

The town will ask residents to reapprove $6.9 million for the East Chop revetment and $26 million for wastewater treatment facility upgrades.

The funding was originally approved by the voters in 2022, but there was timing issues with the required ballot votes. The ballot votes for the projects occurred too late to be considered effective under state law, town officials have said.

The $26 million will be used to complete upgrades to the town’s wastewater facility and $6.9 million is intended to cut down erosion along the East Chop Bluffs.

The special town meeting will be held on June 25 at 7 p.m. at the Oak Bluffs Elementary School. Quorum is 50 people.
