We would like to express our thanks to those who made donations on Giving Tuesday. The shelter raised more than $2,000.

Our pet of the week is Andy, a 13-year-old, gray male cat. Andy has lived with a dog and is very adept at using cat doors, making him an indoor-outdoor pet. Andy is a calm and gentle boy who is feeling confused right now; could you be the one to bring him out of his shell? He’s up to date and ready to start his new life.

Also available is a five-year-old, orange male cat. His name is Rhodey and he’s a big boy. But this cat is a lover, seeking out affection and purring and purring. Rhodey needs to be neutered but once that happens, he’s ready to steal your heart.

We’d also like to remind everyone that hunting season began Monday and continues through the end of the year. Remember to wear bright colors when walking in the woods, and keep your dogs leashed. And please stay out of wooded areas around dawn and dusk.

Please come out and see the Animal Shelter of Martha's Vineyard float in the Edgartown Christmas Parade on Dec. 9 The parade begins at 11 a.m., If you would like to march with us please contact the shelter for more details.
