Unfortunately, there are no adoptions to report this week. However, we have an amazing pet of the week. Savannah is an 18-year-old, bi-color ragdoll cat. She came here through no fault of her own, and is as sweet and gentle as she is beautiful. She’s in good health, up to date and ready to go.

We have a couple of other cats in need of homes. Jasmine, who may be part Maine coon, is a stunning, long-haired, gray/dilute calico cat with green eyes. Her age is 13 and she is looking for someone to adore her. Since she considers herself to be the queen, we feel she would be happiest as an only cat. Also available is Marbles, a three-year-old, gray and black, female tabby cat. She is an affectionate, playful girl who enjoys laps and being held. However, she can be intolerant of other cats so we recommend that she be in a single-cat home.

If anyone is interested in a kitten, we have an eight-week-old, tabby female available. She’s been hand-raised, is so sweet and her name is Judy. Hurry up, she won’t last long!

Brothers Peter and Teddy are one-year-old, black male rabbits. They’ve been hand-raised, and are litter box-trained. Both are very friendly and love to be held and cuddled. And they’re happy living indoors or out. Doesn’t someone want a cuddle bunny or two? These boys need to find homes: they’ve been here too long and they don’t need to be adopted together.

Puppy training classes with Jeremy Jones are beginning on Sept. 17 at 9:30 a.m. and will consist of six sessions for $300. Please contact the shelter for more information.

Please join us for the Celebration of Pets, animals great and small on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Agricultural Hall. There will be farm animals, domestic animals and other animal related events including the blessing of the animals. We hope to see you there for a fun-filled event.
