The 31st Annual Harbor Festival, better known as HarborFest, comes to port at the Oak Bluffs harbor on Sunday, June 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It was originally scheduled for Saturday but due to the bad weather forcasted it was changed to Sunday.

The festival will host 60 local vendors and nine musical performers.

“Our mission is to have this event so that the businesses in Oak Bluffs have an influx of visitors,” said Billie Jean Sullivan, executive director of the Oak Bluffs Association. “The purpose is to bring people out to celebrate the summer and have a good time.”

Welcoming upwards of 1,000 visitors each year before the pandemic, HarborFest invites Island residents and visitors to walk, taste and shop their way through Oak Bluffs. This year’s event will have a stronger emphasis on kid- and family-friendly events, featuring a Chalk Walk in partnership with the Oak Bluffs library and a Sandcastle Contest from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Visitors can also enjoy music, with performances at Nancy’s outdoor stage. Phil daRosa opens with Darby Patterson at noon, Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish follows at 2 p.m. and the Dock Dance Band concludes at 4 p.m. Additional music acts will perform near Our Market.

The event is free and open to the public.
