It’s been another week with no adoptions, and Snort is wondering why she’s been here this long. She says, I’m sweet as sugar, I adore being with people and sharing love, I enjoy playing, and everyone thinks that I’m absolutely stunning. I am a 13-year-old, tri-color (calico), female Persian cat. I’ve lived with both cats and dogs but would prefer to be an only pet so I can get all the loving. I’m wishing for my new family to find me soon.

Also available are Peter and Teddy, six-month-old, black, male rabbits. These boys are hand-raised, litter-box trained and very friendly. Peter even enjoys being held. And as a bonus they’re both indoor/outdoor.

Teddy is also looking for a forever home. He’s a five-year-old, short-haired, mid-size dog that is white with brindle markings. He’s a friendly, happy boy who loves to play but is in need of continued training.

Do you know that while dogs are at the shelter, training is implemented whenever necessary? When a dog is adopted, the new owner gets one free training session, courtesy of Jeremy Jones. We also provide puppy training classes and AKC Good Citizen training.

For new puppy owners, we are hosting a six-week long puppy class with Jeremy Jones. It began on Sunday, May 21 but there are still a few more spots available. Contact the shelter for more information.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours.
