As the Steamship Authority embarks on its first strategic plan, the ferry line is seeking comment from the public.

The authority posted an online survey this week and plans to host five in-person feedback sessions.

Raftelis, the Natick-based consulting firm hired by the SSA to guide its strategic plan process, issued the survey, which asks respondents about their thoughts on safety, reliability, and infrastructure, among other things.

The survey will be available online through June 30 and boat line officials will consider the public input as they work on the strategic process later this summer.

An open house to talk about the plan will be held on May 23 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Oak Bluffs Public Library. A meeting will also be held the same day at 4:30 p.m. at the Tisbury emergency services facility on Spring street.

Other meetings will be held in Falmouth, Hyannis and on Nantucket. Click here for the survey.

Developing a strategic plan was one of the 10 key recommendations from a comprehensive study of boat line operations done in 2018.
