Cape Cod 5 welcomed local public school teachers, including many from the Vineyard, to their new headquarters in Hyannis for a grants awards reception on Wednesday, Feb. 5.

Cape Cod 5 presented 87 grants to teachers from local schools to fund educational projects that they developed. Thirteen of the grants totaling $5,301 were presented to educators on Martha’s Vineyard to fund projects at four Island schools.

The winning projects cover a wide array of topics, including virtual reality, civic engagement and diplomacy, social emotional learning, marine engineering, computer science, coding and robotics. The teachers estimate that these 87 projects will impact close to 24,000 students.
