I seem compelled every few years to write a love letter to the Gazette. Today, at home in Connecticut, I was reading the Sept. 13 issue.

As my son in law is an avid fisherman from the south shore, I cut out the review of Deep Water Blues by Fred Waitzkin. His birthday approaches.

I so enjoy the poetry displayed in your paper and cut out the poem, Lightfall by Susan Puciul. As a retired librarian, I am intrigued by journalism and its practitioners. I cut out the article by Mark Alan Lovewell. What a loving tribute to that vocation!

Thank you again, Vineyard Gazette, for the pleasures you bring.
