The Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society has named Kristina West as its executive director, the society announced this week.

Ms. West has a 10-year affiliation with the society, serving on the board of trustees as well as on staff, a press release said. She is a resident of Vineyard Haven and also has worked for Island Grown Initiative and the town of West Tisbury.

Established in 1859, the society has been working to re-invigorate its mission and membership in recent years with new leadership and improved financial management. The primary source of revenue for the society is the annual Agricultural Fair, which takes place this year from August 15 to 19.
