On Saturday, Feb. 9, at Howes House in West Tisbury, Joel Paul of Voter Choice MA will explain ranked-choice voting.

Voter Choice is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the Massachusetts public about electoral reforms and ranked-choice voting.

In this system, voters rank candidates on the ballot in order of preference, including as many or as few as desired. Ranked-choice voting has been adopted in Maine. The city of Cambridge has been using it in municipal elections since 1941.

Mr. Paul, Cape and Islands chapter leader for Voter Choice MA, is the featured speaker at the monthly meeting of the Democratic Council.

The meeeting begins at 9:30 a.m. Howes House is across from Alley’s.
