The Chilmark Library is hosting a photography show of work by Vivian Ewing. The show is called Dry Grass and will be up through Nov. 30. A reception is Saturday, Nov. 24 from noon to 2 p.m.

The photographs in this series are all based on a fatal house fire that occurred in Portland, Me. where Ms. Ewing lived at the time.

Born and raised on the Vineyard, Ms. Ewing earned a BFA in photography with honors from the Maine College of Art. She is the creator and editor of Enter Rural Scene, an anthology of art and writing by women, trans and queer artists based throughout the country. Copies will be for sale at the reception.
