One does not have to be crazy to suffer from a mental disability. The presence of mental illness usually goes unrecognized by friends and family of its victims, but its pernicious effects are far more prevalent than we’d like to admit.

Recognizing it and knowing the options to meet this challenge can be a lifeline for families so affected. Anyone with a suspicion they may benefit from such knowledge has a unique and free opportunity to learn of the many faces this malady assumes and to find a surprisingly large community of neighbors who share the discovery of finding this affliction among their friends or family members. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) offers a family to family course this winter. Register by calling Daryl at 508-627-5249 or Peggy at 508-693-5872. Do it now; you may save a life.
