Now that the kids are back to school, it’s time to bless those backpacks. On Sunday, Sept 11 at 10 a.m. Grace Episcopal Church in Vineyard Haven is inviting students of all ages to the annual Blessing of the Backpacks. The ceremony will take place during the regular worship service.

One need not be a regular churchgoer or Grace Church member to take part.

“This is a community-wide event designed to recognize the role our village faith community plays in the care of our Island’s children,” Father Brian Murdoch said.
