CJ Rivard of Edgartown is the new executive director of the Martha’s Vineyard Camp Meeting Association, the organization announced this week.

Ms. Rivard will step into her new role on May 9. She is the former general manager of the Colonial Inn and has more than 25 years of executive management and marketing experience, including running her own marketing agency.

She replaces the previous executive director, Ron MacLaren, who left in April.

“We are looking forward to our upcoming summer season and many years ahead under her leadership,” MVCMA board president Jeff Ferriell said in a press release.

The Camp Meeting Association is a non-profit religious organization dating back to 1835. The well-known Camp Ground in the center of Oak Bluffs with its colorful cottages and wrought-iron Tabernacle has been designated a National Historic Landmark. The association presents community entertainment every summer, including the annual Grand Illumination Night. For more information visit mvcma.org.
