It’s been a successful week at the shelter with lots of adoptions happening. Kitties Maryanne and Lola have gone to their new forever homes. And Chaps has gone home as well. Best of luck to everyone.

Ten month old stray black kitten Eloise, from Franklin street in Vineyard Haven, is now alone in the cat room, having only the elderly orange gentleman Milo to play with. Is there a family out there looking for a super playful and affectionate kitten? This little girl is sure to put a smile on everyone’s face.

Anyone need an indoor/outdoor farm cat that’s a good hunter? Five-year-old tuxedo male Lyle is here waiting to meet you. He is a handsome boy who is affectionate and playful as well.

Max, the 15 month old Labrador retriever/hound mix, is still looking for a home, but has an adoption pending. He is well trained, affectionate, and good with other dogs and cats, but is fearful of young children. He is staying with his family until a new home can be found so please contact the shelter if you would like to meet this boy.

We would like to thank everyone, especially all the volunteers, who came out in the pouring rain for the rabies clinics on April 2. Despite the miserable weather we were able to vaccinate 41 dogs and 29 cats.

Shelter hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The shelter is closed Sunday and Monday. The telephone number is 508-627-8662.
