We finally got some much needed rain. Now we have some wind then the warm air followed by some more rain. Welcome to spring in New England.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Sara Creato and Jared Davenport who celebrated their day March 29 and Nicholas Carpenter, Brynn Savva and Wyndam Welles who all celebrate their day March 31.

Special birthday wishes to Donna Montesion who celebrated her day March 29. Her sister Linda wrote that she is one of the kindest people, and does so much for others, which I happen to know is true. She has done some great celebrating in Puerto Rico, and now with her family is back home.

Also happy birthday to Pam Dolby’s husband Michael, who will celebrate his day March 31.

Felix Neck is working with osprey researcher Rob Bierregaard and volunteer Dick Jennings to train volunteers to help continue their osprey monitoring program. According to Dick Jennings, they are in dire need of dedicated people to assist in the monitoring. The number of breeding pairs has increased over recent years from 56 to 87. This program has been successful in strengthening and bringing back our Island osprey population. In order to continue, they need your support. Please help the osprey by volunteering for the Martha’s Vineyard Osprey Monitoring Program. The training opportunity is at 1 p.m. on April 16 at Felix Neck. Registration is required and may be done over the phone at 508-627-4850 or go online to massaudubon.org/felixneck.

I worked Easter Sunday and I think the bunny on the front lawn at Donaroma’s was one of the most photographed. There were cars with kids pulling in and out of the driveway all morning. There were many adults having their picture taken with the big bunny too. Of course the fact that he was surrounded by a white picket fence and lots of spring flowers helped make the picture full of spring feeling.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
