The Island Wide Youth Collaborative, in conjunction with the Youth Task Force and Martha’s Vineyard Public Schools, will be hosting free workshops next week about parenting anxious children.

Lynn Lyons, a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in treating anxious children and their parents, will hold two three-hour parenting workshops entitled Worried About Your Worrier? What to Do When Anxiety Runs (in) the family.

The workshop on Tuesday, Dec. 1 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. is designed for parents of children in pre-kindergarten to sixth grade. The workshop on Wednesday, Dec. 2 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. is for parents of children in grades seven through twelve. Both workshops will take place at Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School and are free and open to the public.

Ms. Lyons is the author of several books; her most recent book, Anxious Kids Anxious Parents, will be available for purchase at the events.
