I am glad to see that changes may be “in the air” at the Martha’s Vineyard Airport. While I am not familiar with the FAA rules that have been breached, I have noticed how dirty and unkempt the airport is. I am ashamed that this is the first thing visitors see when they land on our beautiful Island. Recently I used the ladies’ room — it was beyond filthy. I attempted to complain, but nobody could tell me with whom to speak. I was eventually sent off to “someone” at private aviation. They politely told me that they would pass on the information — to whom, I know not.

Beautiful trees were planted both in front and in the courtyard of the airport — and then let to die because nobody took care of them. Then they were cut down. New trees were then planted in the courtyard, which should be a charming waiting spot — these too are dying from lack of attention. The benches and low table are covered with stains; the wood is not being treated or sealed.

We went to the cafeteria for a cup of coffee; the tables were sticky and dirty. The food was unhealthy and the room over air conditioned.

Who is in charge? It’s an embarrassment!
