The Martha’s Vineyard Cultural Council, which gives financial support to a variety of arts, science, and humanities projects, is calling for applicants for the 2016 grant cycle.

Organizations, schools and individuals are all eligible to apply for funding for projects, operating support, ticket subsidy programs, artist residencies, fellowships, student field trips and other events and activities.

Applications are due by Oct. 15. To help applicants, the council is holding a grant writing workshop at the West Tisbury Library on Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served and the session is available to any artists, schools, organizations or residents interested in applying for a grant.

In 2015, the cultural council funded 70 grants totalling $38,600.
