Island Grown Initiative announced last week that Sarah McKay, former board president, will be taking over as interim executive director for the next year.

She replaces Keith Wilda, the farm’s hub program leader who has served as interim director for the past 10 months. Mr. Wilda will now return to full-time work at the Thimble Farm hub. Ms. McKay will help lead a search for a permanent executive director in the winter of 2016.

A well-known figure in the Vineyard community, she worked previously as manager of Cronig’s Market and has served as board president at IGI for six years.

Island Grown Initiative is dedicated to supporting a resilient local food system through its four core programs: Island Grown Schools, Poultry, Gleaning and Farm Hub. For information, visit islandgrown.org or email office@islandgrown.org.
