The Lagoon Pond Association needs your help.

You can help by attending the annual meeting of the association on Saturday, July 11, at 9 a.m. at the Featherstone Gallery on Barnes Road. The main topic of discussion will be the current decline in health of Lagoon Pond and steps that are being discussed to reverse this decline. You will get up-to-date information on state of the art septic systems, what areas of the watershed need to be connected to the sewer system and hear a presentation from town officials.

While we are looking for new members, you do not have to be a member of the organization to attend. Everyone is invited. And while we are focused specifically on the Lagoon Pond, this is really an Islandwide issue, since all our of coastal ponds are in danger of the negative effects that high nitrogen levels are having on the health of these ponds.

So please stop by on Saturday to learn what you can do to help save Lagoon Pond and become part of the progressive movement.
