Derek Fairchild-Coppoletti is a technology executive and entrepreneur, a tinkerer and hacker, and a father of two boys. Minecraft is big on the kid circuit, but unlike a lot of computer games, it can also be a gateway to computer programming. It is this educational opportunity that led Mr. Fairchild-Coppoletti to offer a Minecraft computer programming boot camp, to be held the week of July 6 through 10, for kids ages 10 to 13.

The camp takes place at the West Tisbury Congregational Church and uses a step-by-step curriculum that includes a crash course in Python programming and uses Arduino programmable circuit boards.
