A few days after the Martha’s Vineyard Community Services Possible Dreams Auction we are able to look back and simply say, “Wow!” Thank you to the amazing Martha’s Vineyard community. We had more than 20 individual and corporate sponsors whose total donation to Community Services was just under $100,000. We had more than 100 volunteers devote much of their day to us because they believe in the mission of Community Services as well as the fact that they always have fun at this event, Nearly 200 Island residents and businesses made significant donations to our silent and live dreams, and many of these folks attended the event as well and bought raffle tickets for $10 or a beverage and some food for between $2 and $10 — all helping to support our local health and human services agency.

Jimmy Tingle and Guinevere Cramer made us all laugh and bid high to support Community Services and our five core programs (Early Childhood Programs, Island Counseling Center, Disability Services, CONNECT to end violence and the Thrift Shop) as well as new initiatives we are working with other entities on the Island to provide (the Island Wide Youth Collaborative to provide an adolescent mental health and substance abuse care continuum for our young people and their families, and crisis stabilization services which are desperately needed on the Island).

Thank you to our many generous sponsors, donors, volunteers and guests. Thank you to the owners and staff at the Winnetu Oceanside Resort. Thank you to the board of Martha’s Vineyard Community Services and the 2014 Possible Dreams Auction Committee, especially co-chairmen Liza May and Emily Levett, for supporting the great work our fantastic staff does year-round for the Island community.
