While it is almost always tempting to write a letter to the editor criticizing poor service, it is much more enjoyable to give praise where it is due. And in this case, high praise!

Last Sunday evening our car suddenly died while driving into Oak Bluffs. We were able to push it off the road but that was it. We remembered there was a car rental business across the street from Nancy’s Restaurant, about three blocks away. (Yes, we were that lucky.) It was after 6 p.m. but Fun N’ Sun Rentals was still open.

We explained our predicament and our need for a vehicle. Don and his crew could not have been more accommodating and offered us a Jeep at an amazingly fair price, despite the fact he could have taken advantage of our situation, especially after I showed him my Colorado driver’s license. The Vineyard should be proud that they have such a kind and ethical businessman.
