Please Adopt Us

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard will be open on Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11. It would be a special time to come visit all of our great cats and perhaps take one home. Last week three wonderful cats were adopted, but we have many more who need the love that only a good home can provide.

Sox, an elderly, long-haired black and white cat is one of those in need. There is no adoption fee for Sox. Additionally, Island vet Dr. Breese has agreed to provide for all of his medical care. This is a real bargain, so please think about giving this wonderful cat a free home.

Other available cats include Liam, a tuxedo male who is about a year old; Chloe, a brindle and black who is a bit shy and needs a home where she can come and go on her own terms; Butter, a beautiful calico; Annabelle, a shy black and white cat who needs someone to help her overcome her shyness; Ceilia, a short-haired sleek kitty with startling green eyes who greets everyone with a meow; Storm, a sweet tabby and white who loves everyone, other cats included; Bart, who loves to play; Napoleon, a handsome Maine coon; Graham, a beautiful gray and white cat with a great personality, and Ariana, a female tabby who is new to the shelter and only about one year old.

Shelter hours are Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The shelter is closed Sunday through Tuesday. The telephone number is 508-627-8662.
