Karen Christina Pardo and Kofi Ali Cash are pleased to announce their marriage on Oct. 6, at 10 a.m., at the Harbor View Hotel and Resort in Edgartown. Justice of the peace James Pringle will officiate. A champagne brunch reception is planned following the ceremony in the hotel’s Edgartown room.

Dr. Pardo is a pharmacy clinical manager and medication safety officer for Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, Va. Karen graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz and received a doctoral degree in pharmacy at the University of California, San Francisco.

She is a daughter of Arturo and Sharon Pardo of Caracas, Venezuela. Karen’s father, deceased, was a civil engineer and a graduate of Stanford University. Karen’s mother is also a graduate of Stanford University and is currently retired, now living in Oregon. Karen has two teenage boys, Isaac and Ian, ages 16 and 14.

Mr. Cash is a health care quality executive for Memorial Hospital in Martinsville. Kofi graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and received a master’s degree in health policy from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, N.H. Mr. Cash is a local product and a member of Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School class of 1996.

Mr. Cash is the oldest son of Dr. Kriner and Lisa Cash of Oak Bluffs. Lisa is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati. Kriner is a graduate of both Princeton and Stanford University. He earned his doctorate in education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Dr. Cash served as superintendent of Martha’s Vineyard schools from 1995 to 2003. He is currently the superintendent of Memphis City Schools in Memphis, Tenn. Together, Kriner and Lisa have maintained their Island home and continue to enjoy their summers on the Vineyard.
