From Maine to You, With Sauce

Slow Food Martha’s Vineyard is hosting a community potluck at the Agricultural Hall in West Tisbury on Thursday, Sept. 15, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The guest speaker is Kathy Gunst, Maine cookbook author and “resident chef” for WBUR’s award-winning show, Here and Now. Her radio work has received two James Beard award nominations.

Ms. Gunst lives in South Berwick, Maine but has spent the past 30 summers on the Vineyard. She will talk about her new literary cookbook, Notes from a Maine Kitchen.

The dinner is open to the public and there will be dishes created from recipes in Ms. Gunst’s book, including homemade, wild blueberry soda and wild Maine blueberry pie.

Bring a potluck dish made with local food to share, your own place setting and drinks. There is a suggested donation of $5 for nonmembers, free for Slow Food members.
