The ringed planet, Saturn, is easy to spot rising in the eastern sky after sunset tonight, near the gibbous moon. The planet resides in the zodiacal constellation Virgo. Saturn has resided in the constellation for almost two years. Saturn is not far from the bright blueish star Spica, the brightest star in Virgo.

In the morning sky, four visible planets appear low in the southeastern sky tomorrow and every morning going into the coming week. Venus is the brighter of the four. To the right of Venus you’ll see Jupiter, the second brightest.

The distant and most elusive of planets, Mercury, appears right under Venus.

Mars is to the left of Venus.

The best show is for those who look more than once. Every morning offers a change in movement among all four.

Think of Venus as the planet that stands still. Jupiter inches away from Venus in the mornings ahead, while Mars gets closer. Moving underneath Venus, Mercury slips closer towards the horizon.

Honey Moon

The moon is full on Tuesday. The moon is called the Honey Moon and resides in the zodiacal constellation Libra. It rises in the east just as the sun is setting in the west.
