The Louisa Gould Gallery’s new exhibition, Summer Palette, a collection of mosaics, photography, paintings and new media, opens with a reception on Saturday, July 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. with refreshments and live music. The artists include Jenifer Strachan, Jeanne Campbell, Joan Kennedy, Frauke Klatt and JB Lamont.

Jenifer Strachan, new to the gallery, uses rare and antique pieces to create her works, such as a 50-foot broken-plate mosaic, which can be seen at Spoleto restaurant in Northampton.

Jeanne Campbell says she isfascinated by “the possibilities for exploring and experimenting with color and textures through my Nikon cameras.”

Joan Kennedy’s seascapes and landscapes are vibrant in color; the viewer will find a strong command of texture with rich, saturated hues and a peaceful, quiet energy. Menemsha Morning reminds us of a day yet to begin.

Frauke Klatt is a famous German painter of marine art; her water-coloring and sailcloth are unique because of the lightness and material used.

J.B. Lamont’s 3D renderings take viewers into a whole new world.

The show runs through August 3 at 54 Main street in Vineyard Haven.
