With sweet harmonies, songs both charming and funny, a guitar, mandolin, banjo and accordion and more talent than you can fit on the band bus, the boys of PigPen Theatre Company will unpack their latest work for all ages this week, outdoors at Featherstone Center for the Arts.

Their tale incorporates original music, custom-made puppets and visually stunning effects. Called The Mountain Song, the show will run Thursdays through Saturdays, July 8 to 25, at 6 p.m. Bring a picnic to enjoy during the show at Featherstone, just north of the blinker on Barnes Road in Oak Bluffs. Tickets are $12.

PigPen creates atmospheric theatrical fables with a unique blend of shadow puppetry, group movement, live music, and very clever lighting effects. Formed at Carnegie Mellon School of Drama in 2008, PigPen has since performed in Chicago and Pittsburgh, and will head to the New York City Fringe Festival next month.

On Friday nights, PigPen is headlining doubleheaders: 6 p.m. at Featherstone and 8:30 p.m. at the Grange Hall.

The show is presented by ArtFarm, the Vineyard Arts Project and Island Theatre Workshop.
